Sister Dorothy Parks Frye was born May 12, 1962, to the late Mary Parks and John Newman.
She confessed Christ at an early age. She served as an usher at Lakewood Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Michael Reed.
Sister Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ben Frye of 31 years; three children, Daronna Brown (Ed Jr.), Cedric Parks, and Latisha Frye (Adderrean); six grandsons, Dontae Pollard, Donald Pollard III, De’mon Parks, La’ed Brown, Cedric Parks, Jr., and Mekhi Parks; one granddaughter, Passion Ce’Niece Brown; five sisters, Rosie Gray, Mary Nicholas, Audrey Hennings (Raymond), Brenda Blunt (James), and Alether Winn; five brothers, Johnny Parks, Melvin James, Willie Parks (Renoida), Timothy Parks (Tonya), and James Parks (Elizabeth); three godchildren, Brianna, Roro, and Fran; mother-in-law, Rosa Harvey (Leon); sisters-in-law, Diana, and Stephanie; brothers-in-law, Gerald Sr. (Patricia), Leon, Jr. (Sandra), Benjamin Fletcher, Anthony Harvey, and Maurice (TaWanna); two special aunts, Earlean and Willie Mae; one best friend, Juanita Scott; one special cousin, Emma Douglas; and a host of nieces,nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by: Urnae Johnson (Ernest); nephew, Le’Michael Parks; Damion Sr., Ben Jr.; Darren, Clyde.
