Yvonne “Von” Garner was born on September 20, 1965, to parents Geneva Payne and Robert Garner in Monroe, Louisiana, at E.A. Conway Memorial Hospital. She confessed her life to Christ at a young age at Pleasant Grove #1 Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorship of the late Reverend McDaniel.
Yvonne was raised by her love parents, Rejoyce and Leon Lee. She grew up on the Fairground, where she developed a lifelong friendship with Lisa Northern and Ann Haney. She graduated from Tallulah High School with the Class of 1983. She had a candy store in her home on the Compress for twelve years and was affectionately known to her customers as ‘Ms. Von’. Yvonne worked at T.A. Truck Stop, where she met her husband, Robert Johnson; they were united in Holy Matrimony on June 2, 1996. From this union, they adopted two children.
Yvonne was united in Heaven with her husband; parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
She leaves her legacy to her children: Rejoyce “Yams” Harrison, Leonardo “Jr” Rayford, Devonne “Dee” (Rodney) King, Franklin Johnson, and Danielle Clark; seven grandchildren, Shavonne, Darrius, Lenardo, Shayla, Angel, LeeVonna, Faith, and acknowledged Stevanna; three sisters, Dorothy, Mae Elizabeth, and Sharon; two brothers, Dave and Robert Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other extended family.
