Catherine Stewart

November 23, 1949 ~ May 3, 2019 (age 69)

God knows what is best; he knew it was time for you to take your rest. We won’t say goodbye, because we will meet again in that Sweet “By and By”.

For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better. - Philippians 1: 21-23

Ms. Catherine Stewart was born November 23, 1949, in Thomastown, Louisiana, to the late Christine Gray and Freddie Stewart Sr.

She went to school at Thomastown High School.

Catherine was blessed with eight precious children. One child preceded her in death. Catherine was a fun and loving person, whom everyone adored and loved having a conversation with. She wasn’t known for fame or fortune, but she had a heart that was just as precious as gold. She loved sharing and helping others. When she had a dollar to spare, she would find some little child to bless in a special way.

Catherine departed this earthly life on May 3, 2019, at Glenwood Medical Center, in West Monroe, Louisiana. Her memories will always remain in the hearts of her three sons, Clyde Stewart, of Chesapeake, Virginia, Novell (Tonita) Stewart, of Sacramento, California, and L.H. (Keisha) Stewart, of Sondheimer, Louisiana; her four daughters, Mary Stewart of Memphis, Tennessee, Tina Stewart, of Sacramento, California, Gwen Stewart, of Sondheimer, Louisiana, and Danielle Stewart, of Tallulah Louisiana; one brother, Freddie Stewart, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Louise Stewart, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Ann Mills, and Gloria Jean (Joe, Joe) Allen, both of Tallulah, Louisiana; twenty-two grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a longtime friend, Joe Hawthorne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and Freddie Stewart, Sr., one daughter who was known as Baby Girl Stewart, one brother, Jimmy Stewart, and one grandson, Kendrick Stewart.
