John L. Bates, age 64 was born on September 25, 1954 and passed away peacefully at Maison Deville Nursing Home in Harvey, LA on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 4:20 a.m. Son of the Late Vecy Bates, Sr and survived by his mother Louise Bates.

Brother of his late sister Mary Bates Hartley and Brother Eugene Bates.

Survived by six sisters Bobbie Bates, Brenda Bates, Cassandra Bates Lang, Diane L.Bates, Katy Bates Carter (Willie), Juanita Bates Bonds (Calvin), and his three brothers Charles Bates, Dennis Bates, Vecy Bates,Jr.

Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends

He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
