Macio Tennie, Sr., was called home on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the graceful age of 84 years young. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family, who stayed by his side at the Methodist Richardson Hospital in Richardson, Texas.
Macio Tennie was born on January 23, 1935, in Waterproof, Louisiana. In his younger years, Macio was a very gifted baseball player. He was a proud loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had an immense love for life (and Doritos). He enjoyed cooking, road trips, spending time with family, going to the casino, and shopping at Wal-Mart. Macio spent his life helping all, and he never complained. He was kind, gentle and caring, and he did everything in his lifetime leading with God and love. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality he was loved by many and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
Macio Tennie, Sr. was preceded in death by his father, Harry Tennie; mother, Minnie Lee Turner; brother, Willie Tennie; sister, Melissa; nephew, David; and grandson Davin Murry.
Macio leaves behind his gifts to this world that will forever cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ethel Ransome Tennie; sister, Winnie Lee Burden; his children, (daughter) Winnie Louis and (son-in-law) Charles Louis; (daughter) Patricia Tennie; (daughter) Suprena Gant (Sammy); (daughter) BJ Tennie (Kenneth); (son) Macio Tennie, Jr. and (daughter-in-law) Johnnie Tennie; (daughter) Ellen Bars and (son-in-law) Gary Bars; (daughter) Leslie Tennie and (son-in-law) Dennis White; and (daughter) Debra Ransome; his grandchildren, Chauncey Jamaal Louis (LaToya), Tausha Gant (Emmanuel), Mausha Washington (Gregory), Montez Thomas (Symone), Elleshisa Gant, Jeremiah Williams, Bryndon Tennie, Victor Tennie (Bianca), Dasia White, SirXavier White, Cadence White, SirWilliam White, and Latriece Ransome; his great-grandchildren, Nydia, Negil “RJ”, Gabrielle “Gabby”, Chrystee, Aubrie, DeShaun, Nathan, Autumn, Maniya, Montez, Jr., Tyranique, Christaccier, Azariah, Amaya, Liryc, Journee, and Alaiyah; nieces and nephews, Annette, Emma, Edward, Tausha, Jackie, Chris (Morgan), and Allen “Woose”; and other cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
