A Time to be Born:
James Lenton Hatter, Sr. was born on January 13, 1939 to the late Elbert Rube and Oneder Hatter in the St. Peter Community.
A Time to Build:
He joined St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age. He was a Graduate of Lincoln High School. Later, he enlisted into the United States Army (1962). He obtained employment with Grambling State University in 1981 and retired after twenty-one years of service in facilities maintenance.
A Time to Love:
He united in Holy Matrimony to the late Armer Jean Hatter and to that union two sons were born: James Lenton Hatter, Jr. and Christopher Allen Hatter.
A Time to Reunite:
On November 29, 2019, James “Cap” Hatter, Sr. reunited with his parents, his wife Armer Hatter, one son, James McCallister, two sisters, Dorothy Stringfellow and Arey Lee Garr Harris; and two brothers: E.L. Hatter and Bobby Hatter.
A Time to Remember
James “Cap” Hatter will always be remembered by his sons: Tyrone Davis, Baton Rouge, LA, Derrick (Jhacole) Dunn, Houston, Texas, James (ShaRonda) Hatter, Jr., Ruston, La., Christopher (Katrina) Hatter, West Monroe, La., Two grandsons: Tyrone Mitchell and Christopher Hatter, Jr. Two granddaughters: Kennedy Jefferson and Chasity Calhoun. Two sisters: Dr. Bettye Jo Albritton of San Diego, CA and Hattie Ashley of Grand Prairie, TX. Lastly, an abundance of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
