Mr. Mickeal Ellis Obituary

Mickeal Dariell Ellis also known as “Cool Dude”, was born April 23, 1971 at Lincoln General Memorial Hospital in Ruston, LA, to Gloria Ellis-Elmore and Larry Hubbard. Mickeal accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church in Ruston, LA, under the leadership of Rev. Allen Diamond. His knowledge of Christ was reinforced from his childhood and throughout his adult life by his praying, loving, and devoted mother. He received formal education within the Lincoln Parish and Ouachita Parish school systems. In later years, Mickeal earned his CDL and gained employment as a truck driver. He worked for Swift Transportation and Estes Express Lines. He was employed by Estes Express Lines until his untimely demise.

Mickeal was a people person. He never met a stranger. He had friends from all walks of life. He treated his friends like family. To him, his friends were indeed family. He embraced and enjoyed life. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. God blessed Mickeal to rekindle a closer, deeper, loving, and more fruitful relationship with his daughter, Brittani Gaines. He was an avid sports fan. He proudly accompanied his daughter, Ya’Vonna Ellis, to many of her athletic events. He loved all of his children.

Mickeal was united in holy matrimony to Alfie Iglehart on June 2, 2006. One child, Ya’Vonna Ellis, was blessed to this union.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Daisy Hubbard; aunt, Martha Hubbard; uncle, Otis Hubbard; maternal grandparents, Berry and Minnie Millage; uncle, Jerry Waters; and a few weeks ago a dear cousin, Larry James Waters, Jr.
