Obituary
Roosevelt “Vell” Glass was born in West Carroll Parish to Ms. Martha Clay Glass and Levert Glass, Sr. He was the seventh of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Glass; and sister, Oreatha Price.
Roosevelt received his education at Combs McIntyre High School in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Upon his relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada, he joined The Potter’s Place under the leadership of Tony Collins. There he served as a faithful member until his death.
On December 4, 2019, Roosevelt “Vell” Glass was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Lavell Glass (Gloria) of Monroe, Louisiana, Roosevelt Glass, Jr. (Linda Faye) of Lake Providence, Louisiana, and Steven Freeman, of Monroe, Louisiana; four daughters, Ana Lisa Scales (Orlando) of Arlington, Texas, Carol Brown of Monroe, Louisiana, Pamela Ball of Fort Worth, Texas, and Crystal Hamilton of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; four sisters, Dorise Emanuel of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Dianne Howard (Albert) of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Lillie Howard (David) of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Ollie Edwards of Las Vegas, Nevada; four brothers, Lee Virt Glass of Monroe, Louisiana, H.G. Glass of Houston, Texas, Jessie Glass (Edna) of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Melvin Glass of Oak Grove, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Roosevelt was a very loving and caring man. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He loved his family and would do anything for them.
