Ms. Virgie Lee White “PeeWee” was born on April 4, 1954, to Viola McDowell and Joe White in Waterproof, LA. Virgie accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend E. Watson at New St. Mark Baptist Church. During her time at New St. Mark, she served as a member of the choir, but later transitioned to the usher board under the leadership of Pastor Frank Brown. Not only did she serve on the usher board, she also served as the church secretary until her death. She was a dedicated CNA for over 20 years. Ms. Virgie had a gift when it came to caring for others.
Virgie was the second oldest of seven children. She is preceded in death by: her maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts, Virginia Myles and Lucille Arrington; and one brother, Jessie McDowell.
On October 22, at 1:04 AM, Virgie transitioned from her earthly home to her spiritual home surrounded by her loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Viola M. Thomas of Waterproof, LA; her father, Joe C. White of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Morgan D. White of Monroe, LA; one son, Joseph C. White, Sr., of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Carolyn Robinson of Ferriday, LA; four brothers Charlie McDowell of Waterproof, LA, Marvin (Marilyn) McDowell of New Orleans, LA, Melvin and James McDowell of Waldorf, MD; two beloved grandchildren, Jayda Jackson and Joseph White, Jr.; two special nieces, LaDonna McDowell and Paityn Miley; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
