On July 5, 2019, at 1:50 a.m., Pastor Edward J. Puckett was called to rest by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His wife was at his bedside.
Edward Puckett was born July 26, 1946, in Mound, Louisiana, to Wilbert Puckett and Florence (Shaw) Puckett. He was a graduate of Thomastown High School. He was united in marriage with Annie
Diggs on March 17, 1987; they resided in Tallulah, Louisiana. Pastor Puckett was blessed with many talents. He mastered machines, built houses and planted gardens. He was a licensed television and radio repairman and a retired professional welder.
On May 20, 1995, Edward made a decision to keep the Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus. He was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and later ordained and licensed as a Pastor. He labored in Ministry, Prison Ministry, and door-to-door evangelism. In November 2009, Pastor Puckett joined the International Association of Free Seventh-day Adventist and organized Choosing God Free Seventh-day Adventist Church, on 314 South Elm Street, in Tallulah, Louisiana, where he pastored until he was called to rest from his labor. Pastor Puckett devoted his life to the service of God and helping others. He never met a stranger, and no one ever came into his presence and left without hearing the Word of God. Pastor Puckett was an amazing and kind person, wonderful father, and excellent companion in life. His presence in this world will be greatly missed.
