On June 22, 2009, in Bastrop, Louisiana, Ms. Consequelua Brown and Mr. Willis Nelson Sr. were blessed with a healthy and energetic baby boy whom they named Wil’Zyron Deshaun Nelson. He was lovingly called Zy by his parents and other family members. He was also called “Bad Boy” Zy by his uncles.
Wil’Zyron was a very happy, smart, and busy guy. He was a fifth-grade honor student at Wright Elementary School where he had many friends and associates. At such a young age, he was blessed with many traits and skills. Some of his favorite past times included: helping his mom around the house, working beside his dad, granddad, and uncles, taking care of his little brother, Mr. Wil, being around both his grandmas, and all of his aunts. He also found joy playing with his cousins, ushering in the church, and helping his uncle OW take care of his horses. Most of all, Zyron’s day was never complete until he discontinued his busy schedule to show his big brother, Dude, some love by teasing and aggravating him with a big-hearted smile. Zyron was greatly loved by all of his family members.
Wil’Zyron grew up attending Sunday school and church. Along with his upbringing in a strong Christian home, he learned at a very young age that he needed God as his Lord and Savior. So, at the tender age of seven, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. On August 20, 2016, he was baptized by Reverend Frank Holden. He was a loving member of the church and usher board.
Affirmative, a life so short-lived, but one that glows like a morning star! God only wants the best! God looked around and said, “I need some little hands to help me work my heavenly land.” On September 1, 2019, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, Louisiana, our Heavenly Father called Wil’Zyron DeShaun Nelson home to be with him. One thing he would want everyone to remember is no one is to blame for his death because as stated once before, God only wants the best.
Wil'Zyron was preceded in death by Ruby Lee Brown and Mattie Simpson.
Wil’Zyron’s treasured legacy will continue to live through: his loving and devoted parents, Consequelua Brown and Willis Deshaun Nelson Sr., both of Sondheimer, LA; his two brothers, Willis Deshaun Nelson Jr. and Wil’laddyn Zyshaun Nelson, both of Sondheimer, LA; his maternal grandmother, Ruthie Mae Lavender of Lake Providence, LA; his maternal grandfather, Larry Joe Pitts of Milwaukee, WI; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Mary Nelson, both of Sondheimer, LA; his great-grandmother, Ivy Jones of Lake Providence, LA; his aunts, Orthura Lavender of Dayton, OH, Connyettia Nelson, Comaneatha (Joel) Stewart, Montona (Steven) Rivera, all of Sondheimer, LA, and Jeyssie Porter (Marcus) of Oak Grove, LA; his uncles, Avery Lavender, Sr. of New Orleans, LA, Willie Nelson Jr., Courtney Nelson, and Adrain Nelson, Sr., all of Sondheimer, LA; four favorite cousins, Steve Bo, Little Bo, Kareem, and Edwin; a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends; and a very special great-aunt and great-uncle, Earical (Larry) Binder.
