Obituary
Darrin Bernard Johnson , called “Heavy D” by most of his friends, passed on April 19, 2020, at East Carrol Parish Hospital.
His story started March 29, 1968, born to Mrs. Louise Crye Johnson of Mound, LA, and Mr. J.C. Edwards of Vicksburg, MS.
As a child, he was always a joy to be around. As he grew up to become a man, he attended Job Corps, where he received his G.E.D., and became a Master Barber. As an adult, he went on to work for Gordon Logging Company, where he was employed for over 30 years until his passing.
He enjoyed fishing, sports, horses and horse-back riding. He was a jokester and always enjoyed a good laugh. He was always in for a good family cookout, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed, alway true to himself, and a very hard worker.
Darrin received Christ at an early age. His faith in God kept him strong and complete. He shared a great deal of love for family and friends. He was a gentle giant who always said, “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be alright. Just take care of yourself.”
Darrin leaves to mourn: his father, Mr. J.C. Edwards of Vicksburg, MS; stepfather, Mr. Eddie Williams of Lake Providence, LA; an uncle, Mr. James (Danethel) Edwards of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Jacqueline Crye and Kimberly Crye of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Micheal Crye of Lake Providence, LA, and Eddie Shawndale Johnson of West Monroe, LA; aunts, Daisy Crye and Hazel Jean Crye of Tallulah, LA, Donnie Mae Jones, Dorothy Rogers, and Betty Kinney of Aurora, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
