Deacon Otis Eldridge Wright, Sr. was born November 27, 1946, in Tallulah, Louisiana to parents Percy Wright Sr (Buddy) & Inez Wright. His Paternal grandparents were Will Wright, Sr and Tea Wright. His Maternal grandparents were Clarence & Virginia Choclin.

Deacon Wright was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Grove No.1 Baptist Church of Tallulah, Louisiana pastored by the late Rev. Cable. Later he became a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church pastored by Rev Isaiah Ross where he served as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher. He was also awarded a Founder Award of Mt. Calvary.

Deacon Wright was educated in the public school of Madison Parish receiving his GED from Job Corps in Arizona. Wright then answered the call in 1966 to serve his country as he was drafted by the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam, after completing his service, he then became a master chef and was employed by the United States Navy Hospital in California for 10 years.  Then returned home to Louisiana to be employed by the U.S Army Corp of Engineers where he served as head chef on the matt sinking unit Motor Vessel Benyaurd for the next 30years. In August 2006 he retired from his duty as chef and spent the rest of his life with family and friends and keeping busy gardening, helping others and serving his church.

Deacon Wright received numerous awards during both his Army service and Career.

Deacon Wright was married to Mrs. Polly Jackson Wright for 40years and to this union they have 1 son Otis Wright, Jr a daughter in law he adored Sherry and one grandson Otis E. Wright 111 (03).

He lives to cherish his memory a devoted loving wife Mrs. Polly Wright, two sons Otis Wright Jr, and Gerald Williams. 2 sisters Brenda Johnson, Yvonne Johnson (Frank) 4 brothers Percy “Doc” Jr (Almeria), Bernard (Shirley), Richard and Mike Sr. 4 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom he treasured, they will keep his memory alive.
