Edna Ruth Goods was born March 15, 1956 in Tallulah, Louisiana to a proud mother and father, Mary Bell Williams and Reverend Acey Williams, Sr. She departed this life on Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana.
She confessed Christ at an early age at Mount Cellar under the leadership of the late Reverend Roosevelt Williams. She later became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Henry Harris.
She attended Wright Elementary School and graduated from Reuben McCall High School in 1974. After graduating from high school, she attended a community college in Vicksburg, MS. You see, Ruth was considered the genius of our family by our dad. Any and all legal matters she could explain; she was a take charge type of girl, she was a notary for many years. Ruth served faithfully at her church on the finance committee. Ruth loved the Lord, her church family, her biological family, friends, and she rarely met a stranger.
She united in holy matrimony to Michael Goods on May 27, 2006. They spent 14 years together.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters, Jessie White, Bertha Williams Smith, and one brother Walter White.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband Michael Goods, daughters Krystle Rose and Myesha Goods; loving step-children; four brothers: Eddie White of Tallulah, LA; Ronnie (Tamara) Williams of McComb, MS; Michael (Emma) Williams of Las Vegas, NV; Acey (Yolanda) Williams, Jr. of Lewisville, TX; four sisters: Beulah Henderson of Houston, TX, Annie (Clarence) Miller of Tallulah, LA, Dorothy Williams of Las Vegas, NV, and Mary J. Williams of Tallulah, LA. One god-sister, Felicia Toney-Williams, four god-sons, Justin Williams, Kham’Ryin Sims, Jordan Curry, and Derrian Washington; one god-daughter Myra Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
