"I thank my God every time I remember you."
Forrest Fields, Jr., the first born of Forrest Sr. and Jessie Mae Lewis Fields, was the likeness of his father and cherished by his mother. Forrest Jr. was born to this union on November 26, 1953 and departed his earthly commitment on September 30, 2020.
Mr. Fields was introduced to Christ during his youthful years at Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God In Christ. As an adult, at times, he attended Zion Traveler Baptist Church and New Living Word Ministries.
Forrest Jr. graduated from Ruston High School during May 1973. Later, he enlisted in the Army on July 2, 1973. While in the military he received commendations being a Sharpshooter and awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He served assignments in Korea and various other locations. Upon his discharge from the Army, Forrest Fields, Jr. attended Grambling State University for two years.
Mr. Fields was employed with numerous companies, such as, City of Ruston, Lincoln General, Essex (Russlow), Portico Restaurant and more. One characteristic admired about Forrest Fields, Jr. was his work ethic. Even when his health started to decline, Mr. Fields continued to work proving that he would not allow his aliments to stop him.
December 1, 1981 was the date ordained by the Lord that Forrest Fields, Jr. united in marriage with his wife, Brenda Faye Maryland Fields.
Forrest was loved by his family and friends! As the scripture states “I thank my God every time I remember you” (Philippians 1:3). His family and friends are thankful that the Lord allowed Forrest Fields, Jr. to grace our lives. Furthermore, we are thankful for the many miracles that the Lord performed in his life. For instance, years ago, Mr. Fields had a serious illness, his medical prognosis was not good, but the Lord showed Himself strong by restoring his life. Although Forrest Fields, Jr. the husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend is no longer present on earth with us, he will continue to live in our hearts!
