Mr. James Pierson Jr. Obituary

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” ~ Revelation 21:4

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the angel of the Lord made a visit to claim one of his own. James heard the still voice call and he knew the time of his departure was at hand. James Pierson, Jr., was born on December 2, 1940, to James Pierson, Sr., and Christine Pierson in Lake Village, Arkansas, both of whom have already made their life transition. He was called to Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Cellar Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as the finance manager. After high school, James begin working at Montrose Oil until he retired. James Pierson, Jr., was a devoted husband and family man, who was always there unconditionally for his entire family, providing support and guidance. He was a true friend, advisor, confidant, peacemaker, and caregiver, who always loved unselfishly. Mr. Pierson was loved and respected by everyone he came in contact with and never met a stranger. Known as “The World’s Best Dad” and his baby girl Chelle’s “Superman,” he loved spending time and having fun with his family. To know him was to love him. Mr. Pierson was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Willie Mae Jones Pierson; and grandson, Robert JaRod Farmer. He leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Johnny Pierson of Birmingham, AL, Jeffery Pierson and Tracey Pierson both of Tallulah, LA, and Gary (Stephanie) Pierson of Vicksburg, MS; three daughters, Tina Swift of Tallulah, LA, and Annette (Donald) Dunlap, and Demetrich (Kelvin) White both of Shreveport, LA; six grandsons, William (Kandice) Farmer, D’Jerrian Johnson, Kelvin White II all of Shreveport, LA, Staff Sergeant Michael Swift, Jr., of Yuba City, CA, and Jeffery Hopkins and Jaelin Hopkins both of Tallulah, LA; six granddaughters, Mykira Weathersby, A’launi Pierson, Destynee Hopkins, Ja’terrica Frazier all of Tallulah, LA, Talisa Pierson of Vicksburg, MS, and K’Ceia Dunlap of Shreveport, LA; three great-grandsons, Kyran, Jayden, and Kahlin Farmer; one great-granddaughter, Milah Swift; sisters, Versa Duncan, Johnnie Mae Pierson, and Carolyn (Carl) Dixon; brothers, Jimmie (Dorothy) Pierson, Andrew Neal, and Carl Neal; six stepsisters, six stepbrothers, special family friends, James Vaughn, Corine Williams, Orlanda Harrington, Keisha Frazier, and Marisa Rone; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family friends.
