Mr. Jerome M. McDowell Sr.

Obituary Jerome Marquet McDowell, Sr. was born on December 20, 1974, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of Sylvester McDowell, who preceded him in death, and Ollie McDowell. Also preceding him in death was a very special niece, Kei’ Sharricka McDowell. Jerome McDowell, Sr. accepted Christ at an early age; he joined St. John Baptist Church. Jerome McDowell, Sr. was known to family and friends as “Rome.” He was a fun-loving and energetic person; he was the light of any room he stepped in, and he would always find a way to make you laugh. He was a loyal son, a proud dad, an awesome brother, and a true friend to anyone he called a friend. Jerome McDowell, Sr. spent his adult life as a heavy equipment operator, where he had one-of-a-kind skills and took great pride in his work. Jerome McDowell, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. He may be gone physically, but he will forever be with us spiritually. Jerome McDowell, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted mother, Ollie McDowell; five children, Selisha Percy, and Trayveon Houston, both of Delhi, Louisiana, and JaMarra McDowell, Jerome McDowell, Jr., and Christian McDowell, all of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; two sisters, Tietiona (Marlon) Grady and Sharrick (Edwardo) Young, both of Delhi, Louisiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
