Mr. John Brandly Obituary

John W. Brandly, or “Brad” as most folks call him, was born in Canton, Mississippi on March 19,1953 to Maggie Lemon(mother) and Elmo Brandly(father). Brad was a committed husband to his wife “Faye” (Linda Brandly). He is a proud and loving father to his two daughters Bonnie(Dopson)Brandly and April Brandly. If you didn’t know their real names, you sure wouldn’t find out by talking to Brad because he ALWAYS affectionately called them by their nicknames “Scooter” and “NeNe”. In all of Brad’s endeavors he was steadfast and committed. He served his church home, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church,as a dedicated Sunday school and Bible study teacher. He also sang in the choir. He served his family by driving,at about 35 mph , across the Mississippi River bridge from Tallulah to Vicksburg just about every day of the week, for 40 years,to work as an employee of the Anderson Tully company. He served his community by simply being a good human. He was reserved in when and to whom he spoke, yet intentional and impactful with his words. He was controlled in his emotions and his expressions and he embodied the fruit of the spirit not only publicly, but privately. Brad was also a loyal friend and a cool as a cucumber father-in-law who enjoyed singing, learning new things, playing pool, mowing the yard, traveling, and sitting down to a good meal, especially a steak, AND he was not a stranger to downing a daiquiri from a Fat Tuesday cup. While we will miss Brad’s physical presence here on Earth, we can rest assured knowing that he is present with God and was greeted on the other side by his mother Maggie Lemon, his father Elmo Brandly, his sisters Annie Mae “Bonnie” Brandly and Sheron Banks, and his brother Lee Arthur Brandly. His memory will be cherished here on Earth by his wife,Linda Brandly, his children Bonnie(Delvar)Dopson and April Brandly, his sister Hazel Richardson, his best buddy Anderson Jones and a host of other family, friends, and neighbors.
