He was baptized at an early age at New Zion Baptist Church by Reverend McTier. He attended the public schools of St. Joseph, Louisiana including Tensas Rosenwald Elementary School and Davidson High School, class of 1974. As a youth, he was blessed to meet and marry the love of his life, his elementary school sweetheart, Miss Mable Armstrong, on February 16, 1974. To this union, they were blessed with seven children. They started their life together in New Orleans, LA before buying their first home in Marrero, LA in 1976. After retirement, Len and his wife moved back to New Orleans in 2012 to live a relaxing life. He enjoyed mechanic work, building race cars, and watching drag racing.
