Mr. Lionel Jackson

Lionel Hondra Jackson was born on April 6, 1968, the third child to Delores and Lonnie Jackson. He started his early education in the Madison Parish School System. He attended Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where was baptized by Reverend B.L. Thomas, on May 1986. He signed an athletic scholarship to Coahoma Junior College to pursue his second passion, football. He later transferred to Louisiana Tech University to follow his career ambition to become an architect. He then went on to Hinds Junior College in Raymond, to get his degree as a biotech engineer.

Throughout the years, he has traveled here and abroad with many jobs and opportunities until his last place of employment with Christian Acres in Tallulah, Louisiana. Lionel really enjoyed talking on the phone and especially enjoyed his first passion, playing and listening to music. He was an awesome father, brother, friend, mentor, relative, classmate, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, and advisor. He will truly be missed.

Lionel was called to rest on Saturday, February 23, 2020. He was preceded in his earthly departure by both parents, Delores and Lonnie Jackson.

To uphold his legacy and to cherish his memories are: Lionel’s daughter, Gabrielle Jackson of Monroe, LA; sister, Lawana Jackson (Willie) Liddell of Houston, TX; three brothers, Melvin (Joan) Jackson of Tallulah, LA, Derrick (Lawanda) Young of Tallulah, LA, and Greg Jackson of Greenville, MS; five uncles, Dowl (Linda) Harvey, Jr., of Tallulah, LA, Jessie Jackson of Tallulah, LA, Ernest Jackson and Arthur Jackson of Los Angeles, CA, Edna Thomson of Las Vegas, NV, and Georgia Jackson of Austin, TX; nine special nieces and nephews, Latia, Raven, Christie, Kendall, Nigel Liddell, Demeante, Derrick Jr., Dorian, and Derrilon Young; seven great-nieces and nephews; and special long-time friends, Mr. Ray Connor, Mr. George Tennant, Charles Foster, Cedric Foster, Bobby Kline, and Michael Jones.
