Patrick Bernard Groves was born on May 25, 1970 to the late Alberta Groves in Tallulah, LA. He confessed Christ at an early age at New Bethel M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C. R. Redden. He was a member of CHRIST Family Church in Goodlettsville, TN under the leadership of Samuel E. Pruitt, Jr, at the time of his death. Patrick was educated in the Madison Parish School system graduating from Reuben McCall High School with the Mighty Dragon Class of 1988, where he was affectionately known as the “Gooch” to his classmates.
After graduating, Patrick went on to further his education at Grambling State University. He then lived in California for a time before settling in Nashville, TN. In Nashville, he grew a love for the city while working in the healthcare field for over 25 years. He was working at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center at the time of his departure. Patrick’s nephew, Reginald Groves, grew to be more like a brother, as they both lived in Nashville and helped guided him throughout his life.
Patrick was a very quiet and humble person. Every time you saw him, he greeted you with that smile. He had a style that was all his own. Patrick was loved by his family, friends, co-workers, and especially his classmates. Patrick, the baby of nine brothers and sisters, gained his wings to be with his Mother Alberta, and two older brothers Clinton and Cletious on April 19, 2020.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memories: Goddaughter La’Ondrea D. Cloyd. Four sisters, Shirley Graves (Jack) Carson, CA, Vera Groves, Tallulah, LA, Dorothy Turpin, Atlanta, GA, and Katherine Groves, Carson, CA. Two brothers Ronnie Groves (Helen), Tallulah, LA and Clifton Groves, Jackson, MS. A special friend Paula Parkhurst and close buddy Clarence Cloyd, Nashville, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
