Mr. William Mitchell Sr. Obituary

Mr William Mitchell Sr.

William Mitchell Sr. 100, of Tallulah, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 23, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. A proud World War II veteran, he served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps.

He preceded in death all but two of his six children from his previous marriage, Shirley Holden and Margaret Hawkins, all of whom he loved deeply.

William Sr. was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Vanda Mitchell. Together, they built a life centered on love and family. He helped lovingly raise her four children and a niece as his own, always showing patience, care, and guidance.

A hardworking man, William Sr. spent many years as a farm worker and later lived in Texas, where he worked at North Texas Job Corps. He was known for being careful in all that he did and for his sense of humor, always ready with a joke that brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the Council on Aging, playing dominoes, and sharing laughter with friends.

William Sr. was preceded in death by his parents. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. His wisdom, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

Funeral services will be held on April 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Church, 1412 Henderson Loop Rd, Sondheimer, Louisiana 71276.
