Stanley Gaines Obituary

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time for my departure is

at hand. I have fought a good fight and I have finished my course,

I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of

righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at

that day: and not to me only, but unto all them

also that love his appearing.

II Timothy 4:6-8

Brother Stanley Lee Gaines was born on June 22, 1963, to the late Ben Jackson, Sr., and Florida M. Gaines in Tallulah, LA. He confessed Christ at an early age, at the Rose M.B. Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor T.J. Moreland. He served faithful as a deacon until his health failed.

Stanley received his education in Madison Parish public schools. He was a member of the class of 1982. He was a very loving person, who never met strangers. He was always willing to help others, and he brought laughter and joy to everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Ben Jackson, Sr.; two brothers, Leroy Gaines and Broderick Washington; one sister, Vamia Washington; maternal grandparents, Willie and Elizabeth Gaines; paternal grandparents, Earnest and Julia Jackson; and many other relatives.

Stanley leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted and loving mother, Florida Mae Gaines of Tallulah, LA; six brothers, Ben Jackson and Kevin Jackson of Tallulah, LA, Michael Jackson of McKinney, TX, Shawn Jackson of Greensboro, NC, and Reggie Washington and Roderick Washington of San Bernardino, CA; two sisters, Angelina Jackson of Chicago, IL and Tiffany Guice (Kendall) of Tallulah, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
